A depressed Richard finally has to face the prospect of early retirement. Meanwhile, Hyacinth casually telephones the Prime Minister asking if there is anything on the honours list for Richard. Later, she prepares for a guest, though plans go awry when Rose's latest boyfriend's dog establishes itself on her driveway.

Ep 19 - Iron Age Remains

Hyacinth and Richard decide to expand their knowledge of local history. They head off into the country in search of Iron Age remains. However, the day takes an unexpected turn when a newly-dumped Rose locks herself in her room and calls for the vicar.

Hyacinth borrows Violet's luxury cottage for the weekend and prepares a barbecue. In an attempt to impress, Hyacinth drinks a bit too much and gets carried away with the summer spirit. Meanwhile, Richard goes on a dog search.

Ep 21 - How to go on Holiday without Really Trying

A jealous Hyacinth decides to impress the neighbours by pretending to go on an expensive vacation. Meanwhile, Onslow arrives at the Buckets to take Richard away. Hyacinth shows up to volunteer for the church cleaning only to be humbled by the Vicar's wife.

Ep 22 - Richard's New Hobby

Hyacinth impresses councillor Nugent by boasting that he is a film maker. However, her plans are crushed when Onslow's car breaks down outside her house, and Richard is brought back in a police car.

Ep 24 - What to Wear when Yachting

Hyacinth and Richard head off on a yachting weekend, only to discover their boat is just a small dilapidated vessel. Their attempts to move it downstream away from a more luxurious yacht end in disaster.
